Presteigne Festival of Music and the Arts

Thanks to our Supporters, we can support artists, our team and the global community of writers and creatives who make Crack Magazine. Support today to keep Crack independent, and get a host of music-related benefits in return. The Presteigne Festival takes place each August, with six music-filled days spanning the Bank Holiday period. Youth Music’s vision is that life-changing music-making is available to all children and young people. Every year, Youth Music funds around 300 projects nationwide, supporting more than 80,000 children and young people to make music and develop their skills with a strong focus on reaching children and young people most in need. In Harmony In Harmony is a national programme that aims to inspire and transform the lives of children, using the power and disciplines of ensemble music-making.

Gather at intimate tables with friends, dance late into the evening and fall into sumptuous sofas to soak up the magic. All levels of Arts Award involve a degree of participation, reflection and gathering evidence appropriate to the level. Evidence can be provided by children and young people in a wide range of formats including written evidence and/or illustrations; blogs; social media; audio and visual recording; as well as Makaton, signs and symbols. We offer free resources to support evidencing Arts Award, and centres can develop their own methods.

It regularly hosts engaging exhibitions of art from the last century along with lectures, workshops and night time openings. Whether you’re a beginner starting your musical journey or already have some experience that you want to build on, explore our tried and tested online lessons for Adults. The best part about making music is making it together and we have plenty of opportunities to experience music making with others. With the biggest programme of school lessons and the largest selection of instruments to choose from in Sussex, we will help you begin your lifelong journey with music. The Foundation exists to enable community groups to engage with artists from different parts of the world. The world of wellbeing is set in the arboreal sanctuary at the heart of the festival.

Ensembles

Earlier this year, the event staged its belated fifth anniversary celebrations in the scenic foothills of the Grampians. An all-star cast of international and national DJs joined revellers at the outing, which took place at the tail-end of Australian summertime. The scholarships must be in addition to your course – so if you study Fine Art you can’t apply for support for your artistic practice which is linked to your degree course.

The activities are easy to follow and do not require any specialist knowledge or equipment. Each activity is led by an artist or specialist in their field and offers different ways to get creative with classical music. The BBC website offers free creative and musical activities for children, just follow the links below to the web pages from the BBC website. Every year we award up to nine arts scholarships to students who demonstrate ability, passion, commitment and potential in any art form.

  • We’re also only a stone’s throw away from London’s notorious West End where a variety of GSA productions are presented.
  • We are a charity and run our own early years classes (for children aged 0-5 and their parents/carers), intergenerational singing sessions and our award-winning Mini-Gigs for families.
  • Hurtling through trance, techno and rave with white-knuckle abandon, this one’s prime picking for your pre-party antics this weekend.

Modern Art Oxford is one of the UK’s leading galleries for the presentation of modern and contemporary visual art, with an established international reputation. It hosts a programme of temporary exhibitions by artists from all over the world, live events, workshops and educational activities. We run a series of music and arts education programmes that support around a third of the schools in our area.

College Information

Nestled between the trees you will find independent practitioners offering traditional and non-traditional treatments to relax, cure and revitalise. Get even closer to the artists from the music stages, gaining insight into their culture as we invite them to cook their favourite dishes from home, interspersed with enlightening conversations and a little music. Accomplished young musicians will find that Arts Award develops leadership skills and encourages wider exploration of the world of live and recorded music, music training and a wide range of careers.

Inclusive Music Groups

Deal Music & Arts has been bringing the best in arts and culture to East Kent for nearly 40 years, and in that time we have welcomed many of the world’s greatest artists. Over those years, we have evolved from a summer festival to a year-round organisation that maintains that vibrant festival and supports a series of education programmes. We are very proud to benefit the cultural life and local economy of East Kent.

We will be holding an online drop-in event on Thursday 20 October between 12pm and 2pm to answer all your scholarship questions. Check your eligibility, find out more about what to include in your application, discuss your ideas for the support you would like or ask any other questions you may have. Joining instructions will be cdoass.com added to this page at least one week before the event. The scholarships recognise talent, but awards are also judged on commitment, passion and an assessment of who would benefit the most from the support. There are also opportunities for scholars to showcase their talents by presenting or performing their work during the year.
